Learning & Seudat Moshiah
Sunday, April 20, 5pm
5pm Learning: Living in God's Shadow: A Theology of Divine Absence/Presence
People can describe God as either close or far; sheltering or scary; a transcendent presence or a mere projection of our fantasies. We will study passages of the midrash on Shir ha-Shirim - traditionally read on Pesah - to explore sources that draw on the image of a shadow to narrate our relationship with God. What kind of awareness and responsibility does this shadow cast upon us?
6pm Seudat Moshiah
There is a tradition in some communities to spend the last hours of pesah imagining we are at "Seudat Mashiach," experiencing a taste of redemption. Linger in the last hours of Pesah, feasting on Torah and song with scholar in residence Rabbi Aviva Richman, opening ourselves to imagine redemption.
This program is co-sponsored with The Denver Kehillah and is an all-gender program.
Home-hosted in the South Hilltop neighborhood, address shared following registration
